My name is Diana Clendaniel and I am the President of Leader Within Consulting.
This quote is a guiding force for me and how I have always viewed my role as the leader of my teams.
Over the years, I have watched my team members learn and grow in ways that they never thought possible. By offering guidance, empowering them with new skills, believing in them, and listening to them, my teams have thrived and succeeded both personally and professionally.
The satisfaction and success I had achieved as a leader motivated and inspired me to start Leader Within.
In today's world, employees have options and seek workplace environments where they feel engaged, respected and empowered. It is a well known fact that employees don’t leave bad companies, they leave bad managers. I have witnessed what happens when new or overwhelmed managers are not provided with resources and tools to succeed.
Unfortunately, team morale begins to disintegrate creating distrust, dissatisfaction and reduced productivity.
Teams and team members are all unique and must be treated as such. Authenticity, consistency, and engagement are critical traits for leaders to possess in order to gain the trust of their teams. The cost of employee and management turnover can be avoided with the investment in quality education and guidance for managers. I believe that most managers can succeed if they are provided with the knowledge and support to learn how to maneuver competing demands and challenging team dynamics.
With 20 years’ experience working in various non-profit and healthcare leadership roles, I have successfully led varying team sizes ranging up to 50 team members. In addition, I have led various departmental positions including billing, front office, and clinical positions. I have worked cooperatively with various organizational departments, such as Human Resources, Accounting, Compliance and Administration. I have a Masters in Psychology and a certification as a SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management-Senior Certified Professional).
During my tenure as a leader, I have received great pride in empowering my team members to learn and grow in their roles. Early in my career, I was met with various employee and corporate challenges. I was fortunate to have patient, knowledgeable and supportive directors and mentors who helped me to succeed in my positions and evolve into a confident and effective leader.

I started up my company to help mid-managers who are new or facing a challenging situation. I want to provide an affordable resource for these employees to receive additional supports which will assist them to succeed in their roles and strengthen their teams. In addition, I understand that leadership vacancies can create breakdowns in communication, diminish team morale and result in lost productivity. As such, my company also offers a stop-gap solution for outpatient healthcare facilities who are experiencing a management vacancy.
